I have to say, I love technology!! After only being gone a day, Trey sent me this picture. I think it's an awesome shot. Hopefully he'll send me more during his deployment so that I can share some with everyone!
We voyaged out to the North Shore today. I wanted Mr Kevin to get a good taste of Hawaii. It's pretty built up where we live and Mr Kevin kept saying that it doesn't look like he remembered. Well, no wonder, it's not still 1970!! Joking, joking. I knew the North Shore is the perfect place to really feel like you are on a tropical island. The drive through the North Shore is always nice. I took everyone to Waimea Valley to enjoy a beautiful walk through nature. The smell of this place makes me want to stay here forever. It's so peaceful and serene through this valley. It's definitely one of my favorite spots to go on the island. The only downer is you have to pay to get in. However, it's well worth it. Riley is about to pick a flower. Definitely not allowed! I thought she was just going to smell the flower which is why I was taking a picture. Emrey, climbing the stairs All Hadley wanted to do was ...
The girls were stoked to go to the zoo today. Before we headed there, we dropped Mr. Kevin off at the Pearl City Golf course so he could play. He'd been itching to get on a golf course. So while he did his thing, my mom and I set off for the zoo with my little monkeys. Hadley is completely obsessed with animals these days. Not just one animal, she loves them all. Riley has always enjoyed going to the zoo. Now that she's older she loves to ask questions and learn about the animals. She got to learn a little too much when we were checking out the chimpanzees. There was definitely a little more action than a child's eyes needed to be seeing. Riley asked what they were doing. I simply replied, "playing. Let's move on to the next exhibit." Hadley didn't want to walk, so Kiki gave her a piggy back ride! Leopards! They were pretty. Cheeeese! Emrey kept chasing the birds during our lunch stop We stopped and ate...
Before Hadley even turned two she was asking to use the potty before bath every night and actually peeing in the potty. I thought for sure she'd be trained by the time she was two. It turns out she wasn't quite ready. A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to do potty bootcamp for Hadley. I didn't even bother with pull ups because I found with Riley that they were useless. Kids don't care if they pee in pull ups because it's still like a diaper. I went straight to the panties. Hadley was really excited to be wearing them too. By the end of day 1 Hadley told me she needed to pee. I used Easter candy as special treats every time she'd use the potty. She also had a princess sticker chart to fill up thanks to Kiki. Hadley has been doing marvelous with using the potty. She is reluctant to tell me when she has to pee, but always tells me when she needs to poop. I put her on the potty every hour now because that...
